THE 14 thINTERNATIONAL HUMANITIES CONFERENCE

ALL & EVERYTHING 2009, IN RETROSPECT

WEDNESDAY evening, April 22
through SUNDAY noon, April 26, 2009

The 14th International Humanities Conference – All & Everything 2009 convened on April 22, 2008 in Toronto, Canada. The conference was attended by fiftytwo delegates travelling from Canada, Greece, Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States.

From the Conference’s inception, it’s members have worked toward making this “gathering of the Companions of the Book” to become more and more just that – a gathering of people from all over the world who come together for the purpose of “fathoming the gist” of Gurdjieff’s writings, of sharing our insights and experiences, our questions, and our efforts to understand and grow into becoming remarkable men and women.

Six papers were presented. Abstracts of the papers are located on the Abstracts 2009 page. Four Seminars were also conducted in which were discussed various issues and questions relating the the books and ideas of Gurdjieff. Seminars included: Chapter 25 of Beelzebub’s Tales, Ashiata Shiemash, Sent From Above; Chapter 26 of Beelzebub’s Tales, The Terror-Of-The Situation; Chapter 27 of Beelzebub’s Tales, Organization For Man’s Existence; Chapter 28 of Beelzebub’s Tales, Destruction Of The Labors Of Ashiata Shiemash; Chapter 5 of Meetings with Remarkable Men, Mr. X or Captain Pogossian; and a special Seminar on Egoism.

Two recitals of Gurdjieff/deHartmann music were presented, one by Elsa Denzey and the other by Elan Sicroff.

The Conference Banquet speaker was John Robert Colombo.
